All of those little posts about Magic Returns are in service of making what's otherwise a bog standard sword-n-sorcery tabletop role playing game.
The players have the standard fantasy world motivations that they've had since blue-box Dungeons and Dragons.
The only places I left the reservation were lowering the tech a bit (which isn't too onerous) and getting very specific about the magic rules. To tell the truth I am not certain about those.
It can fall either way...
Do I want magery to come from the ritual of placing the apprentice's soul in the silver dagger or is it just an initiation rite of The Guild. I'll have to pick one or the other because it has a dramatic effect on the points.
