People like to invoke Godwin's law when comparisons are made between something done today and something done by the National Socialists.

"The nazis did it." IS a reason to look at a policy, program or law more closely and examine the potential for such things to cause harm. The burden of proof is on those who choose to emulate the actions of evil and not on those who oppose it.
