I recall that 6.5x50mmSR Arisaka is unsuitable for large game and long distance shooting.  It was one of those "well known" things among the hunter types my uncles hung around.

6.5x55mm Swede is "like a laser" even if it's "too light" for anything but varmints.

6.5 Grendel, on the other hand is good for anything up to elk!  Because sectional density!

I think they're missing something.

All three are tossing a similar weight bullet at about the same speed.  What's different is Grendel does it from a shorter barrel and from an AR.

Of course, what this really means is these old, stuck in their rut hunter types have abandoned their bolt guns for AR's...
